what is shackeer?

Shackeer is an app that appeals to millennials that makes it safe to find the ideal roommate in Johannesburg, Durban, or Cape Town. The experience is from the perspective of a person who is looking for a roomie as well as the one who is looking for the room. once the ideal roommate is found, a chat zone is opened so that the two can know each other better.

Problem area

A few trends of note: 54% of the world's population live in urban communities, the average marriage age for men is 29 (up from 26 two decades ago) and for women is 27 (up from 23 in the same time period). Given these trends, city dwellers tend to spend most of their twenties living with roomies! Also known as digsmates. Finding and keeping a good digsie, however, gets harder as more people swarm into our urban areas.

All registered users will be presented with a login screen where they can enter their login details to gain access to the app.

Home screen

The home screen comprises of multiple options and features including seeing who is available and looking for a roomie as well as the places available.

place details

Each place on the app has a details screen where a user can view pictures and get to know more about the place that they are interested in.

roomie details

Each person will have to provide details about themselves including a photo so that other users or potential roomies can have an idea of who they are.

chat screen

Once a user has decided they like what they see about the place and the roommate a chat window opens and both parties talk and get better acquainted using text chat.

video call screen

Once the the users have had a chance to chat via text. There will be an option to start a video call to ensure that the person is truly who they say they are.
